Ash
On April 8th, 1957 Ashley “Johanna” Williams was kind of a big loser, picked on and bullied by his peers and even his father. Not really getting anywhere in life other than working at S-Mart with his girlfriend, Linda.
That is until October of 1982, where Ash along with Linda, his sister Cheryl, his friend Scotty, and Scotty's girlfriend Shelly, took a weekend trip to a secluded cabin in the woods and it was good at first till things went… not so good.
Ash and Scotty found the Necronomicon Ex Mortis, roughly translated to “The Book Of The Dead”. But this was no ordinary book, as it was read out by a tape recorder, suddenly everything for Ash went to jack and shit, and jack left town.
It summoned the demonic creatures known as Deadites into the Cabin which attacked and killed his friends, turning them into Deadites themselves. Forcing Ashley to kill them and eventually cut off his own hand, replacing it with a patented CHAINSAW!
After battling Deadites for years, taking the Necronomicon for himself, beating the likes of Freddy Krueger and Jason…
Ash has proved himself to be a hero of all, so hail to the king, and keep it… Groovy.
Denji
Young Denji lived a life of misery and poverty. After inheriting his fathers debts to the Yakuza.
After meeting Pochita the Chainsaw Devil, Denji was forced to do OddJobs for the Yakuza, hunting several devils with his adorable little munchkin. However, the Yakuza would betray Denji, sacrificing him to the zombie devil.
Pochita would revive Denji, fusing with his heart. Turning Denji into the Chainsaw Man. This quickly caught the attention of the Devil Hunters led by Makima. Where he would join them to fondle boobs and also not be murdered… Fun.
After countless adventures of fighting a variety of devils and being groomed, Denji would fight against his love Makima, afterwards becoming the guardian to her reincarnation.

People often like to point to this panel when it comes to FTL chainsaw man, sadly it turns out this is not light and is in fact a spear.
Still impressive, just not lightspeed.
FTL Ash?
So this one might need a loftier explanation.
People often look towards these panels from the comics for Ash being supposedly “faster than light”.
Starting off on the first one, as you can see they very clearly do not move in a straight line with this one in particular curving
And the one below splitting into two different beams, as well as the shape of these beans being more liquid than anything related to light.
They also do not burn on contact or act like lasers anyways with how they stun and electrify zombies.
So yeah.
Hard no.
Onto the Marvel Zombies one, Dr Doom’s beams look to be applicable at first with how they burn on contact.
However, they also for some reason do not burn through clothes and only burn skin, making it for starters very strange.
But the real nail in the coffin is how they very clearly do not move in a straight line and generate electricity (further supported with how they are glowing blue and not yellow like how light would normally be portrayed)
So no matter how much Ash wants it to be a laser.
It is not a laser.
Which leaves us with one last one that’s unrelated to lasers, The Singularity from Dead By Daylight can process information within a nanosecond.
Main flaw here would be the inherent issue with Ash (a survivor) scaling to The Singularity (a killer).
While survivors can briefly outpace killers, they are not nearly as fast without a head start and shouldn’t really be applicable to speed in terms of running.
That said, survivors can still do things to killers without them being able to react in time.
Allowing a possible case for reaction speed scaling, which is what the nanosecond feat is from.
While it’s contentious and a bit subjective on how you would use this, it’s possible to argue FTL Ash so yaaaaaaaay.
Freddy, Jason, etc. Scaling?
Hey Spycrab here - I’m here to help go over how Ash’s crossover scaling works,
It’s…. tricky to say the least.
Ash should be comparable to the likes of Jason in terms of strength. Ash is able to take hits from Jason and his Boomstick and Chainsaw have been shown harming Jason. Likewise, in terms of Speed they should’ve been shown to be comparable too, like when Ash caught Jason's machete and physically kept up with him in combat.
Meanwhile, Freddy is a lot more complicated and warrants an in depth explanation.
Freddy’s full power and control of the dream world is absolutely above both Ash and Jason. He’s shown to be a lot more powerful in his respective films and in the comics compared to Ash and Jason. However, his weaker abilities Jason has actually shown the durability to survive, like Freddy's telekinesis. While it is possible for Freddy to be toying with Jason, it is unlikely because of the context. After Jason stole Freddy's kill, Freddy took matters into his own hands and wanted Jason dead as quickly as possible. The naturally goofy beginning of Freddy regenerating from Jason’s machete swings and laughing about it is mainly just Freddy being a cocky son of a bitch. When Freddy actually does get into the fight, he sends Jason flying but Jason continues to get back up. Freddy also acts very aggressively in combat towards Jason, rapidly hitting him, sending him across the room and continuing to attack him. This is simply not how Freddy toys with his victims, what he normally does when toying with someone is making insane jokes while they're at a disadvantage, Making his victim feel hopeless as he showcases his abilities or trapping others in unwinnable scenarios to make a joke out of it. None of which he does against Jason (Besides the arm regen, but that was before he actually started fighting), he instead keeps attacking Jason (Never trying to trick him via dream world, something he knows he can do) stays mostly silent besides from some laughter and pummels Jason. The context AND scene supports Jason being able to scale to Freddy’s telekinesis and also supports This scene where Jason catches Freddy off guard, with Freddy even grunting in response.
Other cases of Freddy scaling in speed involves Ash reacting to Freddy's attacks here, Jason once again catching Freddy off guard here, Ash kicking Freddy's ass here, Which lead to him getting really mad and Freddy getting hit by literal DVDs Ash threw at him (Most feat)
And for Freddy not being serious, not only was he not serious where he did this feat. Freddy was dead set on getting the Necronomicon from Ash’s hands which he was entirely serious about. Freddy can get serious in fights and this fight with Ash proves that he can and DID get serious against Ash. As well as his fight with Jason, where previously he was furious and said "Why Won't You Die!?", meaning he was indeed serious and trying to kill Jason. Freddy usually does get serious in his fights, especially against those he holds grudges against.

Freddy does get in most fights (Including his fights against Ash) and killing others he holds grudges against, which perfectly supports his fight with Ash. And other examples like this, in fact, this example has the supporting evidence of Freddy immediately trapping Ash after he got hit. If Freddy was so much faster, then he would have seen Ash and trapped him as soon as he could.
So yeah, Freddy scaling is backed up by context, scene execution and other feats supporting it. Freddy does get serious in fights and wasn’t toying with Jason given the context and scene execution, Ash should be able to reliably scale to Freddy’s telekinesis through Jason tanking it and Freddy’s speed through keeping up with him, catching him off guard etc pretty consistently, with multiple feats backing it up.
Reminder that this is not scaling Ash to Freddy’s full power, but rather his telekinesis AP and speed.

Stats

(It’s actually Hippo writing here but that’s too confusing)
When looking at the stats for both Denji and Ash, you would see very quickly that Denji takes the edge in most categories.
Strength
For Strength, Denji is SIGNIFICANTLY stronger. Being able to destroy skyscrapers, while at best Ash could hold a dinosaur’s jaw open. Impressive but not nearly enough.
Speed
Denji was able to speed blitz several devils all at once, who should all be comparable in speed to Makima and the Gun Devils 1118468 MPH feat, while Ash at best gets to Lightning Timing on his own. It’s until you bring out the scaling for Ash that stats gets really really tricky quickly.
Ash could arguably scale to Freddy Krueger and his Sub-Rela feat where he chucks a house into space (1.46% the Speed of Light) however scaling to Freddy could be considered iffy based off of a few reasons. 1. Freddy has consistently shown to toy and play with his victims to an absurd degree. He barely if ever takes anything seriously and this goes for his fight with Ash. And 2. There are so many other feats that show this is not something Ash can typically do. He was still actively struggling when fighting freddy.
However for the sake of the argument if we bought Freddy Scaling, Denji can close the gap thanks to his ability to manipulate his chains to close large distances. There’s also the fact that sub relativistic is not that much faster than Hypersonic.
Stamina
Denji and Ash both have insane stamina, with both showing to be able to fight for days, however Denji takes the cake here, having fought the eternity devil for 3 days straight and thanks to his regen he only needs blood to be fully back into shape.
No matter what way you put it, Denji is stronger and has better stamina, he might also have a speed advantage given what you buy, giving him the edge.
Abilities and Equipment
This is where the debate becomes really interesting. When you take a look you can see Ash absolutely takes Hax in terms of how much there is. However, a good bit of them Denji has counters for.
The main one typically brought up when it comes to Hax is the Necronomicon. Team Denji believes the Necronomicon is VERY unreliable for a few specific reasons 1. Ash is an idiot. Throughout the evil dead franchise there have been numerous examples of Ash using the necronomicon just for it to backfire in his face. He’s not typically smart with it at all. 2. It’s typically not his first resort. Ash loves battling with his Boomstick and Chainsaw, it’s his main way of attack and this is pretty consistent throughout every form of Evil Dead media. And 3. Even if Ash were to use the necronomicon, if he does not know the spells the Necronomicon typically only defends itself. And wouldn’t just use whatever spell Ash wanted. The Necronomicon has no reason to think it is in danger, since if anything, Denji having the Necronomicon would be SIGNIFICANTLY better than Ash owning it, since Ash wants to prevent it from being used.
Now this isn’t to say the Necronomicon is useless, if it was used successfully Denji for the most part is screwed.
As for Denjis main hax, Denji can simply eat Ash and Ash would be conceptually erased from existence. So possession isn’t as big of a factor here if Ash dies. (Regardless it's iffy to say if he could posses Denji given Denji and Pochita both share a body, if he somehow did possess Denji Pochita would just take over) his wincon is way easier to pull off and way more reliable.
Denji can also bypass Ash’s regen, thanks to his pact with the blood fiend he can form weapons that slow down regen.
TLDR; Ash has way more wincons but they are significantly unreliable thanks to the necronomicon, while Denji can pull off his wincon pretty easily by getting close.
Tertiary Factors
Here is where Ash is really going to Struggle, Denji is a HEAVY wild card, on numerous occasions he’s shown to come up with game winning strategies on the fly against numerous devils, keep in mind most devils within chainsaw man are thousands upon thousands of years old, and Denji has on multiple occasions bested them. He’d most definitely take combat IQ.
Denji has very easy ways to close distances, like mentioned earlier he can use chains (and potentially even teleportation if you buy it) to catch up to Ash, which helps Denji WAY more than it helps Ash, given their unique fighting styles.
Now one could argue Ash could incapacitate Denji for a short while, the problem is Denji only needs ONE drop of blood to fight, something he is always going to have given the nature of both combatants.
Conclusion
Overall, Denji has the AP advantage, arguable speed advantage, better stamina, combat iq, and easiest to pull off wincon to saw his way into victory
